South Florida Fair Staff Writer: Erica Once a year the teens of Palm Beach County enjoy going to the South Florida Fair. Every year the fair gives families the opportunity to meet new people and socialize. It's always good to bring extra money so that you can play games and win prizes. To go to the fair is very expensive! On certain days like Saturday you would pay $25.00 to get in for "Midnight Madness". Monday-Friday you would have to pay the $15.00 admission fee, plus $35.00 to purchase a wristband for all access. The fair was full of excitement. Many of the rides were intimidating, making you feel like you want to vomit! At times this could be embarrassing when lots of people are watching like when you're riding the Fireball. Some fair attendants gave out helpful resource booklets that contained maps informing the public where the rides and food stands were located. The food was amazing. Just thinking about the sugary, melting creamy funnel cakes makes me hungry! The elephant ears were like heaven. Think of a glob of cotton candy beginning to melt in your mouth. There were enormous Italian hot dogs that needed to be gulped down with a huge cherry Slurpee! Can you believe that you can see a baby animal being born? We witnessed the birth of a baby calf. The calf was so weak it could barely stand. In our eyes, the momma looked like she was saying, "Lord I can't believe I just did this, please Calgon take me away"! A cool thing to see at the fair is the freak show. We saw the smallest lady in the world! One thing that was really phony was a snake with a lady's head, this was a total scam. So beware, go at your own risk! All said and done the fair is worth your time and money. The food, rides and exotic shows were great. You should check it out next year! |
