Graduation: A New Beginning Written by: The staff at Washington Elementary Beacon Graduation is a time of change. A reflection in remembering the ‘old’ or ‘familiar’ while at he same time moving into a new world of possibilities. Graduation is basically more responsibility with learning and opportunities; which equals more changes in life. Leaving the past behind is the hardest part of graduating to the next level in school or life. New responsibility means taking action for what you do, having respect for yourself and others. For many individuals a new level of responsibility is by changing classes with different teachers and most importantly finding our way to the new classes on time. Graduation to higher levels means higher education. It allows one to keep off the streets and choose better job choices for a career. With education, one can become more mature. More advanced education brings more difficult class work and homework. Opportunity goes hand in hand with graduation. New schools allow for changing yourself and eliminating the negative parts of one’s character. New circles of friends may bring different activities such as sports, music and dance. Your grades can improve by the determination to move forward. Graduation is moving into a new chapter of your life; it does not matter whether from Kindergarten, Middle School or High School. What matters is one’s attitude. Always be open to the new challenges being placed in one’s path. |
